Eric S. Rice
Founder/Partner
Eric S. Rice was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, and now lives in Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to becoming an attorney, he worked as a police officer in both Kentucky and Florida. Eric began his legal career at the age of 33 working as an Assistant State Attorney in Palm Beach County, Florida.
After leaving the prosecutor’s office, Eric also worked for two large insurance defense firms where he focused primarily on special investigations, motor vehicle accidents, insurance coverage and premises liability claims. While defending corporations and insurance companies, he gained valuable insight and experience, which allowed him to further develop his trial tactics and strategies. Eric demonstrates success in the court room by consistently obtaining winning verdicts for his clients.
In 2022, Eric, along with his business and legal partner, Daniel S. Gumm, opened the law firm of Rice Gumm, PLLC.

Daniel S. Gumm
Founder/Partner
Daniel S. Gumm was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. His passion for the courtroom began as an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. During his tenure as an Assistant Attorney General, Daniel prosecuted medical provider fraud and assisted the federal government with various investigations.
After leaving the Attorney General’s office, Daniel worked for a large insurance defense firm where he focused primarily on special investigations, motor vehicle accidents, insurance coverage and premises liability claims. Daniel has gained valuable trial experience by representing individuals and corporations all the way through jury verdict.
In 2022, Daniel, along with his business and legal partner, Eric S. Rice, opened the law firm of Rice Gumm, PLLC.
